In the course of rearing a family of five children, the many healings we have experienced have made these words from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, very real to me (p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

One healing that has been a source of great inspiration to our family through the years occurred when one of my sons was fourteen months old. We were having some extensive remodeling work done on our home, so our family was temporarily staying with my husband's mother.

One afternoon I was standing at the kitchen range and pouring boiling hot grape juice into glass canning jars. The range was in line with the open front door of the home and an open window in the rear of the kitchen. As I poured the hot liquid, a cool breeze suddenly came through the house and the hot jar literally exploded in my hand. My small son had just toddled into the room and "plopped" down on the floor. The hot juice spilled onto this little one as well as covering my hand and arm.
