Signs follow believers
We can more radically and faithfully express Christian healing in our lives by more deeply believing—that is, by more constantly improving our understanding of Christ Jesus' teachings. He promised: "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:17, 18.
Many signs followed Jesus' pure understanding of God and man. And after witnessing their Master's resurrection and ascension, his disciples must have been filled with renewed spiritual understanding, for it is written in the book of Acts: "Many wonders and signs were done by the apostles." Acts 2:43 .
When Mrs. Eddy discovered divine Science, she gained the understanding that God is infinite Spirit, pure good, one Father, and that man is His perfect, spiritual likeness—as Jesus had taught and proved. And the signs named in Jesus' promise to believers followed Mrs. Eddy's growing understanding of the Science of Christ.
