As the mother of four children and as a practicing Christian Scientist, I am happy to offer this testimony to the validity and efficacy of Christian Science.
Our family's reliance on God for physical healing has proved the best possible means for maintaining our health and well-being. As one who was raised within the confines of material medicine, I have been continually both pleased with and deeply grateful for the health of our children as we have cared for them through daily prayer and obedience to rules of the Science of Christianity. Their good school attendance records and sound constitutions bear testimony to the fully dependable curative and preventive powers of Christian Science. Playground injuries and colds, so-called childhood diseases and other forms of contagion, have all been healed rapidly, through prayer alone.
When our oldest son and first child was still a preschooler, he developed a cough. I prayed, and I spoke to the child about his ability to pray. He was responsive and receptive to this. But when the coughing continued and he became quite frustrated and unhappy, I saw the need for a clearer understanding of the healing truth on my part.
