As far back as I can remember, my mother relied on Christian Science for help and healing. There is no doubt that my childhood years were blessed because of this, and I have learned to love and rely on Christian Science, too.
In the summer of 1984, on returning from an overseas trip, I noticed that a spot on my face was enlarging rapidly. I knew what I should be doing about it but somehow resisted praying seriously to overcome it.
One day a notice came, requesting me to submit to a medical examination that would enable me to renew my driving licence. This is a law of our land. It passed through my thought that perhaps while I was at the doctor's surgery I could ask to have the spot removed. After all, it wasn't quite like making a special appointment for the purpose, and it would be a simple procedure. But I dismissed this thought quickly. The same wrong thought came again but was rejected immediately, this time for good.
