Fruitage
As in the field
it is not merely the vast plans,
the seeds themselves, the
fencing, the marking off
that bring the bounty—
it is the sowing
and the reaping.
So in our prayers
it is not the repetitions,
the words themselves, the
memorizing, the marking off of times—
it is the knowing
and the living.
