My previous testimony, published in the Sentinel in 1939, told...

My previous testimony, published in the Sentinel in 1939, told about the harmonious birth of my son despite the physician's fears that either the baby or I or both might not survive. We had help through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner, and very shortly our son was born quickly and easily

I am grateful that my parents became interested in Christian Science when I was quite young, so that I was able to attend a Christian Science Sunday School for a number of years. At that time my father sought help through Science for my mother; the medical prognosis was that she would be in a wheelchair by the time she was forty. This did not happen, and she was actively with us into her eighties.

On one occasion we needed a larger house, and it seemed difficult to find a suitable property at a price we were able to afford. We asked a real estate agent for help, but nothing seemed available. After praying one morning, however, I felt impelled to visit another agent's office. There I was given particulars of a lovely house that had been on the market for some time. The price had been reduced just that morning nearer to our price bracket, and the house was in the area where we were then living. At the same time, my husband was given an increase in salary, so our need was beautifully met. We bought the house and were very happy there. This proved to us Paul's words (II Cor. 8:13, 14): "For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality."
