I have had healings in Christian Science from the time I was soon to be married. Since infancy I had suffered from recurring attacks of asthma. The trouble would appear with the onset of winter. As the years passed I sought help, unsuccessfully, through material remedies.

About eight years ago when a severe attack occurred, my fiancee (who is today my wife) suggested I get in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. (My fiancee was acquainted with Christian Science because, since childhood, she and her mother had attended the services of a group of Christian Scientists.)

The practitioner prayed for me and recommended passages to study. This Bible verse was of much help (Acts 17:28): "For in him [God] we live, and move, and have our being." Because another member of my family had asthma, I also found help in pondering this sentence in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 178): "Heredity is not a law."
