Because I grew up relying upon God's love and protection, when I became a parent I felt confident in trusting my own children to His care. Through many experiences I have proved that Christian Science was the most dependable help I could have had in raising them. Over the years I have safely trusted God in healing numerous difficulties.

Two occasions are particularly vivid in my memory, and both marked milestones in my own spiritual growth as well as in the lives of my children. One day when my oldest child was in kindergarten I received a call from the school secretary saying that my son had had an accident on the playground. He had fallen off the top of the slide and was thought to have a concussion. There was also some bleeding. Quite a bit of fear was expressed by the school staff, one of whom kindly brought the boy home.

That morning I had been studying deeply the Bible Lesson from the Quarterly. Instead of feeling alarmed when I heard about the accident, I was very conscious of the Father's control over the whole situation. I knew that in God's kingdom, which is come, there can be no chance occurrences, no accidents.
