Some time ago it dawned on me with gratitude that for more than thirty years now Christian Science has been the central governing influence in my life.
It was through my grandmother back at the beginning of this century that my family learned about Christian Science, when it was being introduced in Germany. As a child I attended a Christian Science Sunday School for several years. But later, because my husband was not interested in Science and then through the prohibition of this teaching in our country, I completely lost sight of Science.
World War II brought great sorrow. I lost four members of my immediate family, and finally my daughter and I even had to leave our homeland. Providing for my little child was the only thing that kept me from giving in completely to despair.
