Many years ago I began attending services each Sunday at a Protestant church. I was expecting miraculously to find the God for whom I was searching, but I was disappointed and disillusioned. My questions "Who is God?" and "What is God?" remained unanswered.
After almost a year I became acquainted with our next-door neighbor, who I had heard knew about healing through prayer. I asked her one day if she could tell me who and what God was. Her face lighted up and she said, "Of course I can. God is Love." That was all I needed to know at the moment, for I knew that I had found Him. God's love was mine to express in every aspect of my life from then on.
What a world of Love opened up to my family and me. I had known nothing of this Science until then. My new friend told me about Mrs. Eddy and her wonderful discovery, Christian Science. And my friend gave me an issue of the Sentinel. This little magazine made me eager to read the book that writers of the articles and testimonies referred to: Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
