Christian Science has brought many blessings to our family for...
Christian Science has brought many blessings to our family for four generations. During my childhood my parents became interested in Science through a man in my father's office who really lived this teaching. As a result, my sister and brother, and I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School, as did our children, and now my grandchild. We have had many healings by depending upon God alone, including those of burns, colds, sore throats, sprains, internal disorders, financial lack, and unemployment.
One experience I had occurred when I was making a frozen dessert one summer evening. After several hours in the freezer, the dessert required being beaten a second time. By then it was late and I was tired. Somehow two of my fingers got in the way of two of the high-speed electric beater blades; the blades became embedded in the fingers. I immediately declared the unreality of accidents and the presence of God and of His omnipotent control. I was able to turn off the appliance, and my husband came to my assistance and succeeded in pulling the blades out. I kept on praying and the bleeding soon stopped. Presently the pain stopped also, but I did not feel peaceful enough to go to bed, although it was long past midnight.
I asked God to show me what I needed to know, and the thought of shock came to me. I reasoned that man reflects God, is at one with Him, and is always whole and perfect. There can be no distance between man and God and therefore no form of shock.
