Affections enriched by the Word
With the final notes of Hymn 305 Christian Science Hymnal, No. 305 . the children were smiling. They loved this hymn that they affectionately called "Shepherd." The words are actually from a poem by Mrs. Eddy, entitled "'Feed My Sheep.'"
When it was time for discussion in this Christian Science Sunday School, one substitute teacher dived into it with the question "What do you like best about 'Shepherd'"? Without a moment's hesitation, one little girl answered breathlessly: "Take them in Thine arms." That is the fourth line of the third stanza:
