Words can never fully express my deepest...

Words can never fully express my deepest gratitude and love for Christian Science. When I picked up an issue of the Sentinel from a literature distribution box at an airport one day, I had never heard of Christian Science, and my life was in a desperate state. I had decided to commit suicide. Physically I was humped over to the right and could not straighten up; my right leg was shorter than the other. I had been ill most of my childhood and had what doctors diagnosed as scoliosis.

An article in that issue of the Sentinel included this verse from the Bible (Gen. 1:27): "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." How wonderful it was to think of God as creating man in His image, and to think of Him as Love. As I read the testimonies of healing in the back of the Sentinel, it was glorious to learn that God cherishes each of His children. The healings related were proof of this.

I went to a Christian Science Reading Room to purchase a copy of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I bombarded the Reading Room attendant with questions, and she lovingly directed me to a list of practitioners given in the back of The Christian Science Journal. I got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner and was able to go see her. She was very understanding, and she agreed to pray for me.
