This testimony is long overdue

This testimony is long overdue. For more than sixty years our family has had many healings and blessings through the study and practice of Christian Science. Each healing has been accompanied by a boundless sense of gratitude to our Father-Mother God.

When we were quite young, my sister and I became interested in Christian Science upon seeing our dear mother healed of a disease considered incurable. Mother was healed through reading the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. This took place after three physicians had told her she could never be cured and would suffer pain as long as she lived. (She was a young woman then, and she lived to be almost ninety.) Mother was so grateful to be free from suffering that she promptly became a dedicated student of this Science. She lived a very active life and witnessed many fine healings through devoted service in the public practice of Christian Science.

One of my early healings in Science occurred when I was quite ill with symptoms of diphtheria. We were visiting relatives in the country, and although Mother was a new student of Science at the time, she was most earnest in her prayerful efforts to overcome this problem. However, when I seemed to grow steadily worse she sent a special delivery letter asking a Christian Science practitioner for help. He received it by midnight and immediately began to pray for me.
