The healing power of the Christ, Truth, as taught in Christian Science has been a continuing force for good in my experience. It has been about twenty years since my last printed testimony —years of fruitful demonstration. I would like to record my great gratitude for Christian Science.

About a year ago I had a severe fall on the sidewalk. There was considerable pain and discomfort, and I found it difficult to sleep. A Christian Science practitioner prayed for me, and we kept in touch through telephone conversations and correspondence. As a result of prayer, I gained a higher understanding of the spiritual nature of man, who is unfallen and perfect, the image of God. The injuries, which had seemed serious, were completely healed in less than a month. The clear realization that God's man is not at the mercy of material belief had brought the purification of thought and physical freedom.

In working out this problem I was very much helped by this passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 106): "Like our nation, Christian Science has its Declaration of Independence. God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience. Man is properly self-governed only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker, divine Truth and Love."
