FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Testing, testing
During high school and college you sometimes feel you spend your whole life taking tests. In addition to course examinations, you take tests for athletic or musical competitions, tests for driver's licenses, part-time jobs, and even tests for placement in school.
It can be a challenge. My first semester in college I failed a course. My second semester I failed another course. I was deeply concerned. To help me, the college gave me an aptitude test to evaluate what grades I should be getting. The test results showed that, at best, I could expect to achieve only medium-level grades.
That startled me. But I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School that I really didn't have to accept such limitations. So I began to think seriously about what it means to pray about my aptitude for schoolwork.
