True service: the spiritual basis for work
Many today are looking for employment, while others who have work are often discontented and unhappy with their job. They may feel their oppurtunities and resources are limited, or they are discourages by other challenging conditions. Yet how pleasant really good work can be!
How may this be realized? By gaining a better perspective on employment—a spiritual basis for our work. The life of our Master, Christ Jesus, indicates that the happiest work is the work God gives us. What is that work? It is serving others. The Master said, "I am among you as he that serveth." Luke 22:27.
Even as a lad, Christ Jesus affirmed that his purpose was to be about the Father's business—the activity of serving God on behalf of mankind. His life was completely dedicated to the highest service. Through his spirituality he overcame the most arduous of circumstances to demonstrate God's power in healing and saving humanity.
