His perfectness heals
A survey recently conducted in a large southern city in the United States indicated that one out of every eight residents interviewed felt he or she had had experiences of divine healing of serious illness. These included healings ranging from those of broken bones to heart conditions, tuberculosis and appendicitis to cancer.
Should it really be surprising that these healings took place, that even a glimpse of God, divine Love, though not fully comprehended, produces a potent change in human life?
Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered Christian Science, once said: "Could I impart to the student the higher sense I entertain of Love, it would partly illustrate the divine energy that brings to human weakness might and majesty." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 292. Perhaps this higher sense of Love could be described as the "perfect love" that casts out fear, mentioned in the Bible in the New Testament.
