"How grateful I am to have Christian Science in raising our children." This familiar statement now has real significance for me as I find myself in the role of parenting a very alert and busy toddler. Daily I have reason for gratitude, but the following proofs of God's care are outstanding to me.

One busy afternoon I was rushing to vacuum the house. I placed our then one-year-old son in a walker-chair and gave him some toys to play with. My aunt was assisting me with my house-cleaning chores that day and was in the same room with the child. I had just finished cleaning one room and had started to do another when my son's name came to thought very strongly. I stopped immediately and went to him, only to find he had an object lodged in his mouth and throat so tightly that he was choking. (My aunt had turned away from the child to dust and because of the noise of the vacuum had not heard him choking.)

I was quickly able to dislodge the object, and in a few seconds he got his breath back. Afterward I was filled with gratitude to God for the angel message that had come to me so strongly. How thankful I was that I had been obedient to the message. I felt in awe of God's great love.
