My mother was a professional singer, and her singing engagements afforded me the opportunity to visit churches of various denominations. None of these churches, however, interested me or answered my questions. Mother was also searching for health and happiness. Although my grandfather was a medical doctor, there was much sickness and unhappiness in our home. My parents attended revival meetings and visited tea leaf readers and card readers during their search for a more meaningful way of life.

One day a neighbor invited me to visit the Christian Science Sunday School. That morning I learned that God loved me, that God did not make man sick, and that God was not a power to fear. I knew I had found something special. Shortly after that, my mother became a serious student of this Science.

For over forty years since that time, I have experienced many healings through Christian Science. Also, our four children were raised in this Science. The following are just a few of these healings. Each was instrumental in teaching me to be more steadfast in trusting God.
