Christian Science has been everything to me for more than...
Christian Science has been everything to me for more than sixty years, and I can safely say I have never found it lacking through some very trying and unusual circumstances.
My gratitude to God, Mind, is beyond words. Some years ago, I had a quick healing that was really appreciated. During canning season I bumped into a peach basket, running a large splinter into my leg. I dislodged the splinter, but the wound bled profusely. Fear took over as I tried to call one and then another number for help from a Christian Science practitioner but received no answer. I tried to find a third number but was shaking too severely.
Then I stopped abruptly and thought, "How ridiculous!" Next I turned unreservedly to God, saying, This is nothing but fear, and fear has no power, for I know full well that God, Love, is the liberator. I also remembered a Bible verse that had helped me overcome other problems (Dan. 6:16): "Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee." By that time I was calm and the bleeding had stopped. The wound closed, and there were no aftereffects.
