Breakthrough
Bright light, white, pure, beneficent.
Its warm glow—
Is that for me? For you? For all?
The gentle Christ assures us this is so—but I don't know...
Dark visions of material sense engulf my thought,
pervasive,
persuasive.
Overwrought,
I claim my right to light;
And Love divine, which meets the human need,
Directs an angel to my darkened sight—revealing
GOD IS LOVE.
This first strong ray to penetrate my night
has opened up the way to understand
That God, the only power there is, is here!
With all, with you, with me, eternally:
And Love is light—there is no darkness there.
The gentle Christ assures us this is so....
And now—I know!
