Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Knowing God's truth makes us free from fear, which is often our biggest enemy. Once we hurdle this barrier, it's easier to grow in an understanding of man as God's likeness. This involves Christian Science treatment, denying the reality of a mortal sense of existence and affirming the spiritual facts of Life.

Seeing man's true selfhood brought about a beautiful healing I would like to share.

Over three years ago my daughter called me very early one Sunday morning to tell me that her son had been in an accident with his motorcycle. He apparently had lost control of his bike while driving on a wet highway and gone down a steep embankment. His bike had landed on top of him. People in a car behind had seen what had happened and called a local rescue squad, who, in turn, had taken the boy to a nearby hospital. X-rays showed three compound-fractured vertebrae. My daughter and son-in-law were then called and told that the boy must be transferred to an orthopedic hospital. (This is the point at which my daughter called me for help in Christian Science. When we hung up I began intense study and prayer in Christian Science, knowing that God is All and that His care is constant. I affirmed God's omnipresence and omnipotence, and the spiritual fact that God, Truth, is at work, always. Also, I reversed the beliefs of accident.)
