"Heaven's aftersmile"
We were in church, singing a hymn by Mrs. Eddy called "Mother's Evening Prayer." It speaks of God's great, gentle omnipresence and total power, and it concludes with:
No snare, no fowler, pestilence or pain;
No night drops down upon the troubled breast,
When heaven's aftersmile earth's tear-drops gain,
And mother finds her home and heav'nly rest. Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207.
