God governs all

God, divine Mind, directly controls His spiritual likeness, man. As God's exact reflection, man can be or do nothing but what God causes him to be or do. Because God has and permits no element inconsistent with His goodness, man—the true selfhood of each of us—can have no evil affinity or tendency. That God's governance rules out evil is provable in our experience.

The goodness of the heavenly Father is reflected in the goodness of His beloved child; the integrity of the one Mind is reflected in the integrity of Mind's idea; the harmony of Love is reflected in the harmony of Love's image. Christ Jesus said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." John 5:19.

Jesus proved his words by healing sickness, sin, and death—conditions which suggested that something or someone other than God governs man. If we aspire to Jesus' understanding and demonstration, we must challenge—through study and practice of Christian Science—false conceptions of man as mortal and material, for they would obscure our view of the man of God's creating and governing. The actual perfection, infallibility, and harmony of man are not just distant ideals, interesting to project as Utopian possibilities. They are actually permanent realities that we can demonstrate.
