When my husband and I married in the late...
When my husband and I married in the late 1960's, we had the usual hopes for happiness. This second marriage was especially important to me, since my first marriage had not succeeded, leaving me with the responsibility of caring for two young daughters.
As the children, their stepfather, and I began adjusting to each other, trying problems arose, many of which seemed to stem from cultural differences—my husband having been born and raised in another country. Although my husband was not interested in Christian Science, I had been brought up in it and had depended upon it all my life. So I frequently asked a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help for me. In each instance the immediate need was quickly met. However, my husband and I continued to have differences.
Eventually a rift developed between us and widened until, after eleven years of marriage, my husband moved out and filed for divorce.
