Waiting is an active verb
Christian Scientists should be doers. They have the opportunity through their daily study and prayer to know God and actively demonstrate man's spiritual link to Him. In an article titled "Improve Your Time," Mrs. Eddy quotes this verse:
"Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 230.
