Living our love for God

A survey, conducted in the United States by the Gallup Organization, reported that only one out of eight Christian church members sampled say that they "would sacrifice everything for their religious beliefs, or God." The Christian Science Monitor, December 22, 1982 . So, according to this survey, seven out of eight of these Christians hold an allegiance to something ahead of God.

How can we learn to love God more? How can infinite Spirit assume its rightful primacy in our lives? One may learn many things in his human experience, but nothing is more important, or more desirable, than learning to love God.

When we see that actually we have never done anything enduringly good without God's help and that we have no real existence other than that supplied by divine Life, we naturally feel a deep affection for our Father. Learning to love God is awaking to our complete dependence on Him as His spiritual offspring. Learning to love God is glimpsing that His creation, man, is independent of material influences. We are filled with adoration when we see what God has done.
