Several years ago my husband and I began making plans for his retirement. Our plans included the opportunity to travel extensively to visit all the places we had dreamed about for many years. We had completed our retirement home, built just to meet our needs at that particular time in our lives. Then, one month before his retirement, my husband suddenly passed on.

With the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was lifted above the sorrow and disappointment and was able to carry on joyously, knowing the unreality of death and separation. There is no separation in the law of divine Love. Love soon filled my life, and it continued to do so, leaving no room for sadness or self-pity. For this one healing alone, I give everlasting praise to God for His gentle, loving care of me and my children.

When I was on my own, I relocated to another city, close to my daughter and her family. Active membership in a new branch Church of Christ, Scientist, followed, and it has brought me much joy and fulfillment. For every new friend and for every opportunity to serve the Cause of Christian Science, I give grateful thanks to our Father-Mother God.
