"The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad"...
"The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad" (Ps. 126:3). I constantly affirmed this truth with great joy and confidence during the period in which I was a "long-distance fiancée." (It was at a camp in Brazil for young South American Christian Scientists that I met the man who is now my husband.)
Sometimes my faith and optimism seemed to flag, though. He was in another country, and it appeared that we would never have an opportunity to see each other again.
I went to see a Christian Science practitioner, who encouraged me to go forward and to know that if this marriage was right, nothing had the power to stop it. What Mrs. Eddy says on page 254 of Science and Health was a great help: "Individuals are consistent who, watching and praying, can 'run, and not be weary;... walk, and not faint,' who gain good rapidly and hold their position, or attain slowly and yield not to discouragement."
