Faith

MARY ELIZABETH G. BAKER

Is the cradle of intuition,
the mother-arms of hopeful prayer,
untiring watcher for Truth's dawn-light.

Faith
hears Christ knocking at the penitentiary door
and fears not to open and to understand.

Faith is the promised land.
