How I prove Christian Science

[Original in Spanish]

I am seven years old and am very happy to be a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School. Sometimes on Saturday nights I go to bed late because we go out or have guests over, and the next day my mother wakes me up and tells me that we're going to church. On one of those Sundays here's what I thought: "I'm so sleepy, and if I miss just one Sunday nothing will happen, because some of my classmates sometimes aren't there, either. Last night I went to bed late, and I sure would like to keep on sleeping."

I told my mother, and, patiently and tenderly, she helped me see the truth and spoke to me like this: "Damiana, what do the first and second commandments say?"

I replied: "'Thou shalt have no other gods before me' and 'Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.'" Ex. 20:3-5. Then I realized that sleepiness should not have control over me, because that was having other gods. Right then I jumped out of bed to get dressed. Since then I haven't allowed anything to trick me into not attending Sunday School.
