Vesture of the Christ
What is this endlessly unfolding
robe of Truth,
this timeless weave
not seamed, not stitched,
at no point vulnerable,
but the undivided vesture of the Christ?
I reach to touch one fold,
seek to grasp some part
of this beauty of wholeness,
this divinity expressed
here, where I am.
And I begin to find in Christ
reversal of the lie of mortal flesh.
JEAN M. LANGERMAN
