No blackout
In any night of our experience,
darkness seems to far outweigh the light.
But the wise man knows, like the wise men from afar,
that one Christlike thought, like that solitary star,
can change fearful, dreary night into perpetually dawning day!
Clouds of sense then clear away, revealing God as all-supreme.
For the light leads to a waking from the dream.
Shadows of gloom, despair, all disappear.
Bright mornings of expected progress
are as close to you as God is near!
