FOR CHILDREN
Third-grade victories
Michelle was excited about starting third grade. In fact, the first three days of school she came home talking about how Mrs. Katz was the nicest teacher in the whole school and about how much she loved school.
The fourth day something went wrong. Michelle came home saying she hated school and didn't ever want to go back. She also became sick to her stomach and couldn't go to school for a few days.
Michelle thought her problem was something she had eaten. But she had been going to the Christian Science Sunday School where she learned she was really fed by the truths of God and His love. Mom explained that God was always pouring out His love for her as His precious child. Michelle listened to a cassette tape of children singing Mrs. Eddy's words to a favorite hymn: "Fed by Thy love divine we live,/For Love alone is Life. ..." Christian Science Hymnal, p. 30.
