I started going to a Christian Science Sunday School...
I started going to a Christian Science Sunday School when I was about five years old. Then, at the age of eleven or twelve, I stopped going because I felt uninterested in religion.
Years later I was to realize how valuable that Sunday School teaching had been. At that time a condition developed, and I was in great pain and very fearful. The doctor I consulted diagnosed the trouble as ovarian cysts, and he prescribed medication to be taken for three months. At the end of that time I went back to him. He told me I'd healed beautifully and that everything was perfect, except that I would suffer from this problem off and on all my life. As I left his office I thought, "That is not the healing I learned about in Sunday School. Christian Science healing is permanent!"
When the symptoms appeared again, I wrote out one statement of spiritual truth from Mary Baker Eddy's writings that applied to my situation (I don't even recall what it was), put it on my desk at work, memorized it, and thought about it often. Soon after that I was really healed. This was twenty years ago, and there has been no return of the problem.
