The sabbath of treatment
Inspired Christian Science treatment is the spontaneous activity of Christ. It is Truth reaching earth through the Science of Christ, revealing whatever is Godlike and God-given, exposing and eliminating whatever is unlike the true.
Each treatment is unique, for it is adapted to correct a specific error; or as is more often the case, several intertwined, though still specific, errors. There are elements, through statement or implication, common to all treatment. They recognize the total goodness of God and man and universe; they bring divine law to bear on the issue, correcting material hypotheses posing as law; they nourish and regenerate. But the content of Christian Science treatment is not so much the subject of this editorial as is what happens after treatment has been given.
What if doubts and uncertainties arise once one has given treatment? By holding fast to the truths the treatment embodies, one systematically silences any counterarguments until they weaken and cease to appear.
