Many years ago I suffered with a severe case of eczema. The problem first appeared a few years after I was married. Before long it was so severe that both hands had to be kept bandaged all the time.
Upon seeking help from a medical doctor, I was told that I might never be free of the disease. This dismal prediction sent me into deep depression. I was especially disheartened because I thought this meant the end of my work as a musician. On top of this, the medication given me by the doctor was of no help whatsoever.
One day a new friend, who was a Christian Scientist, noticed my bandaged hands and, after patiently listening to my tale of woe, asked if I would be willing to have her help me through prayer in Christian Science. I gladly accepted her offer.
