So you've left God behind?
You've done with it—for sure!
Away with the rumbling of Sinai.
Put aside are outmoded mountain themes—
irrelevant and guilt-producing, you say.
And now you've run away—
or so you think.
Have you tried to turn your back on God?
Whichever way you move,
there Spirit is, face to face:
His law, His Word, Her love,
woven indissolubly in fabric
of your being and your day.
Go ahead, run if you feel you must.
Fling yourself as far as you can.
You'll only find your home—
the herenowness of God.
