Not your thoughts
If you have been struggling with a difficulty that still persists despite your earnest prayer, don't blame yourself. Perhaps you may be reasoning, "If my thoughts were better, I wouldn't be faced with this problem. I should be able to solve it." But don't let discouragement, self-condemnation, frustration, fear, creep in. These are not your thoughts!
Several years ago I had been praying for about a week to heal a physical ailment. It seemed I couldn't lift my thought above the material evidence. I felt increasingly anxious, even annoyed, that I wasn't meeting this challenge.
I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. I told her I felt healing was not taking place because of the negative thoughts I was thinking, which seemed more mesmeric each day. I said I felt that in view of this kind of thinking, I didn't deserve to be healed. Not the slightest bit impressed, she agreed to help me.
