As a teacher in the Christian Science Sunday School I have asked myself, "Are these students really understanding the truth— are they taking it in?" From my own experience I can answer that question. When the seed of Truth has been planted, it will come to fruition.

Raised in Christian Science, I attended the Sunday School from the time I was two and a half years of age. In my late teens, I drifted away from Christian Science and did not return for eleven years. During that time I experimented with many different life styles, all of which were in direct opposition to the teachings of this Science. Emotionally I reached extreme heights, but these were matched by equally, if not more, extreme lows. I felt as if I were on a seesaw—up one minute, down the next.

At this point my life started literally to deteriorate, mentally as well as physically. In desperation I reached out for a higher, more satisfying sense of purpose. It was at this time that some of the basic truths I'd learned in the Christian Science Sunday School came to my rescue. The fact that there is one omnipotent, all-loving God—who loves me as His perfect, sinless, wholly complete creation—was so comforting. I am sure these simple truths of God and His creation are what held me together during those very trying times.
