Lives that echo the Bible

Each year National Bible Week in the United States (this year the week beginning November 22) can serve as a vivid reminder of how important, how absolutely indispensable, this book is to all who want to grow in their understanding of God—and live in obedience to what they've learned.

But Bible Week should be more than a reminder; it ought to inspire specific action that gives the Book of books an even larger place in our lives. Some students of Scripture read through the Bible each year; this overview provides an invaluable perspective and context for other, more in-depth study of particular Bible passages through the Bible Lessons provided in the Christian Science Quarterly and through such avenues as Bible concordance research.

The new Bible Exhibit about to open at the Christian Science Center will be of special interest not only to all Christians and Jews but also to the Hindu, the Muslim, the Buddhist, everyone who appreciates the Bible as a piece of literature that has had a major impact on mankind. The exhibit is unique in the world. It aims to inspire an even deeper love and study by those who know intuitively that this book truly contains the Word of God.
