Victory awaits
"Error" is the classification given all evil in Christian Science. Both sin and sickness receive this title, which indicates that these states are not real conditions and have no place in Truth. This classification is the basis of all healing and offers the assurance of eventual release from every form of evil.
"Truth is always the victor," points out Mrs. Eddy, and her writings encourage us to find the spiritual fact about anything we may be combating. If we are striving to ward off disease, battling crime, fighting loneliness or discordant relationships, we can be heartened by the assurance that error never overcomes truth. Scientific truth always obliterates error and ignorance. Mrs. Eddy continues, "Sickness and sin fall by their own weight." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 380.
Evil—sin and sickness—falls. Not man. Christian Science teaches the impossibility of there ever being a fallen man. The true man never falls to the level of a mortal sinner; rather, the discovery of the real man makes sin and sickness fall away from us. The Bible opens our perceptions to an errorless state of being—from Genesis where it is written, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good," Gen. 1:31. to Revelation's description of the holy city, promising, "There shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie." Rev. 21:27.
