Silence the witnesses to discord
The Christianly scientific way to still the discords of life is to silence the witnesses to them—that is, to overcome mortal mind and the personal senses through more spiritual reasoning and living.
God, immortal Love, is the all-seeing. God is seeing only good right now, just as certainly as when the words of truth were penned centuries ago: "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31. Christian Science shows us how to demonstrate man's Godlikeness in our lives. Only our Godlikeness enables us to witness the good and perfect, and so to heal.
Making a major contribution to mankind, Christian Science exposes the workings of evil. It shows that when we believe we are seeing and suffering discords, then we have let ourselves adopt the viewpoint of material thought; this thought knows nothing but the strife and limitation that we then mistakenly label our own trouble. The spiritualization that must accompany our study of scientific Christianity raises us higher, above the fog of mortal belief. Mary Baker Eddy writes, "To strike out right and left against the mist, never clears the vision; but to lift your head above it, is a sovereign panacea." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 355.
