Symptoms of recovery

Healings are sometimes instantaneous. I once had a healing of migraine I'll never forget because one moment there was extreme pain and the next moment I was well. At other times I've had to work much harder before the healing was evident. In either case the mental work, the prayer, has always turned out to be a blessing.

Once accepting the fact that there may be considerable prayerful work involved in a specific healing, we are usually quite willing to do the work. But most of us would like encouragement along the way. We want to know we're on the right path. We'd like evidence that our efforts are worthwhile. We'd like to see signs of recovery.

Where does one look? Some of us have had the disappointment of praying and then taking a peek at matter, only to find that the physical condition remains the same. Finally it becomes obvious that we've been looking in the wrong direction. The Christly message of God's allness does come to the flesh, but it's in human consciousness that error is destroyed. It's here that we can look for hopeful signs.
