Many years ago, when I was employed as a stenographer, the worker who sat next to me noticed that I was working under a great sense of tension and nervousness. She wrote this statement of Mrs. Eddy's on a slip of paper and handed it to me (Science and Health, p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
What a wonderful introduction to knowing God as divine Love! I clung to it and asked her to tell me more. At her recommendation I bought a copy of Science and Health and read it cover to cover. I found myself physically healed and mentally joyous—transformed by the new, spiritual outlook revealed to me by this book.
I began to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and soon I became a member. Each progressive step of participation in church activities, in unselfish service to God, was accompanied by a significant step forward in my business career, which over the years developed and expanded beyond all expectation. I was ultimately blessed with an interesting and remunerative position in management. A happier and more beautiful home was also gained.
