I have enjoyed a great deal of growth in spiritual understanding as a result of my healing of a broken hip. The injury was incurred in an auto accident. The firemen who extricated me from my car expressed no fear for me, nor did they insist on my having medical attention. However, because of insurance regulations, it was necessary that I have X-rays taken. At that time I was advised by the radiologist that I would not be able to walk for six to nine months, and must prepare for the possibility of a permanent limp. But I refused to accept this verdict as a reality. I had claimed my spiritual perfection as an idea of God and was insisting on my divine right to manifest that perfection. This conviction of my true, flawless being never wavered during the process of healing.

I'm grateful for the help of a close friend, a sincere student of Christian Science, who came a great distance to tend to my physical needs. Her fine understanding of God's care was my constant companion and helped me overcome every challenge with truth and love. My husband also provided strong, tireless support.

When one has a business to operate, there is no room for absenteeism. The transition of bringing the work into our home was made effortlessly. Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 128), "The term Science, properly understood, refers only to the laws of God and to His government of the universe, inclusive of man." This encouraged us to see that the supply of ideas from God is both infinite and continuous.
