A number of years ago, my daughter and I were left alone

A number of years ago, my daughter and I were left alone. Our only financial support was the modest salary I received as a typist, and soon my physical condition began to deteriorate. Eventually the sight in one of my eyes was completely gone, and one side of my body was partially paralyzed.

There was much ungodly thinking to be uncovered and disposed of. I had to let go of a false and burdening sense of responsibility concerning the care and raising of my youngster. I began to reject the suggestion that tempted me to believe I was alone, and that I personally had to do everything that two parents would normally do. Instead, I claimed the nurturing presence of divine Love, the one Parent. I endeavored to consciously accept the spiritual fact that all action originates in God and must therefore be good; that my life is in Him; that He is the source of all true movement. Gradually, after nearly three years, I regained my complete freedom physically and mentally.

Due to the untiring efforts of the practitioner who helped me during these years, I was able to be at my place of employment every day. Often I found it necessary to phone her at intervals throughout a particular day, but the immediacy of her prayer enabled me to accomplish my assigned duties.
