Instantaneous healing of alcoholism is thought to be impossible...
Instantaneous healing of alcoholism is thought to be impossible by most people, yet I experienced just that through Christian Science. I had been studying Christian Science for several years, off and on, trying to assimilate the truths I knew it held, and trying unsuccessfully to fit it into my human sense of psychology and philosophy of life. For at least fifteen years I had relied on alcohol to relax me, to make me feel comfortable in social situations, to have fun, and even to make me more loving, or so I thought. When all else failed, it was to alcohol I would turn, sometimes seeking oblivion, sometimes self-destruction, always seeking relief from myself and my problems.
