"Why ever did I take up smoking in the first place?" People are often exasperated with themselves for having fallen for the tobacco habit earlier in life—frequently during high school years. It may take some effort to learn how to smoke, but usually it takes a great deal more to stop smoking. For many people it's a big question: How to break the habit?
An antismoking campaign leaflet recently circulated in mailboxes gives more than a dozen hints on how to get free—all of them featuring the negative words "stop" and "avoid" and "don't." How different from the affirmative message of Christ Jesus: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32;
